Tea Friends!

We just had a fabulous visit from Laura and Clint, who are now road-tripping their way to adventures in Vancouver. It was such a treat to have them, and Josh and Cindy all together again. And the best part is, we all sat around and drank tea (and coffee, Josh : c)) together. Come back, come often!

Matt is getting angsty about apple. I'm trying to get a new job to bail him out--we need a change of pace.

Pool!

Summer is here! I went in the pool today (although without a philosopher accompanying me, Josh), and it was divine.

Now I have to avoid becoming a lobster for the rest of the summer :c).

In other news, Matt and I have started playing classic Nintendo games. I never had a Nintendo set as a kid, so i'm very much enjoying myself. Matt's having a blast from the past, remembering all the hidden levels and 1-ups.

Who needs work, anyway, when summer's here!

Here I am again, at long last.

Matt had his surgery, and came through like a trooper.  He had a spinal fusion to correct his recurring herniated L-5/S-1 disc, and now he spends his time lying about recovering.  He's healing beautifully :c).

In other recent news, I got my ears pierced in Yellow Springs over graduation weekend, and I can't wait to start wearing the cool earrings I got at the Ohio Silver Co.--I'm resisting the urge to buy LOTS of earrings now before I even get started...

Matt and Nate are plotting their own brewing company and plan on spending the summer home-brewing.  Bottoms up!

And congratulations to Megan and Greg Lynch--being married is piles and piles of fun :c).

A new post is long overdue--with lots and lots of life happening in between now and Feb. 7.

But spring is here, and we have the windows open, and today we're going to the zoo.

I need to try to get published.  I miss Oxford, and England.  I want to go back (which feels like masochism, but England is so beautiful :c)).

Chicken Tikka and Harry Potter

My life right now is awfully boring, but matt and I still manage to have fun together in the evenings.  Last night we made chicken tikka (such comfort food), tried a large bottle of Trader Joe's Vintage Ale 2007 (their holiday variety), which matt liked more than i did, and made Kahlua flavored ice cream which was very boozy.

Then we proceeded to read the Deathly Hallows aloud to each other until we tired of talking, so we ended up holding the book between us and reading it silently, at the same pace.  When we ended at a cliffhanger chapter ending, we looked at each other and said something to the effect of "wasn't that thrilling/fantastic?"  But we hadn't said a word aloud to each other for half an hour, but we shared the book just the same :c).

I've been craving cookies, but we don't have any in the house...

A New Leaf

I have followed my friends away from the long-beloved Xanga into the world of Blogspot.

I make no guarantees about the regularity of posting--we'll see how this new formatting thing piques my interest.  It certainly might--this really is quite fun :c).

So hello old friends, i'm back in cyberspace...
